Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has confirmed the arrest of her partner, auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, known as IVD, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Friday, August 1, 2025.
IVD was detained by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions while attempting to board a flight to Qatar with Blessing.
The arrest is linked to his ongoing trial over the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, with unconfirmed reports suggesting a court-imposed travel ban until the case is resolved.
Bimbo Ogbonna died in October 2022 under controversial circumstances, allegedly from injuries sustained in a fire incident tied to domestic violence at their Lagos home.
IVD faces a single count of involuntary manslaughter in suit No. LD/21055C/23, as filed by the Lagos State Government.
In an Instagram statement, Blessing CEO defended IVD, claiming he is being unfairly targeted and harassed.
She denied the existence of any court order restricting his travel, stating that IVD would not have planned or publicized the trip if such a ban were in place.
