This was announced by the state Electoral Chairman, Dr. Michael Ekpali Odey, while delivering his open address at the unveiling of the revised timetable for the Rivers State LG election on Monday.

Recall that the local government elections were initially scheduled to hold on August 9, 2025, under the leadership of the former RSIEC Chairman, Retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli, before he and other members of the commission board were dissolved.
