The factional Interim National Chairperson of the Labour Party, Nenadi Usman, has described the party as the only credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Usman stated this while addressing journalists on Sunday in
Kafanchan, Kaduna State.
She called on Nigerians to keep faith with the party,
stating that it was the most people-centred among the nation’s leading
political parties.
“We are committed to restoring national dignity, hope, and
delivering people-centred governance,” she said.
The former lawmaker decried the suffering of the masses,
noting that it had reached an alarming rate.
Commenting on the defection of some party members to APC,
the factional acting chairperson reiterated that the party remained unshaken
and would continue to enjoy the support of the masses.
According to her, some of those who left the party never
truly shared its vision, stressing that their exit had brought clarity and
boosted internal cohesion.
She pleaded with aggrieved members to sheathe their swords and
close ranks, emphasising that the Labour Party was preparing to commence a
nationwide membership revalidation exercise, congresses, and a national
convention.
