Otega Ogra, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu, has responded to criticism from Peter Obi regarding the President's recent trip to Saint Lucia. Obi had described the trip as a "holiday" amid security concerns in Nigeria.
Ogra in a post on X, criticized Obi's governance record in Anambra, stating that Obi cannot point to any lasting legacy from his administration. Ogra defended President Tinubu's trip, saying it is part of efforts to position Nigeria globally and strengthen international relations.
His words: “Someone who failed to plan for Anambra’s future and can’t point to a sustaining legacy from his admin can certainly not understand the importance of this trip by his President to the Caribbeans. To him, it is a ‘holiday’. To those in the know of geopolitics and where Nigeria needs to be and how it can get there quickly, it is a masterstroke.”
Earlier, the presidency had explained that the trip is a diplomatic engagement aimed at deepening cooperation between Nigeria and Saint Lucia.
