The All Progressives Congress has announced a N20 million fee for aspirants seeking to contest senatorial seats in the upcoming 2025 bye-elections, while the cost for House of Representatives aspirants has been set at N10 million.
This was contained in the official timetable and schedule of activities released by the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Monday and signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu.
According to the document, the fee breakdown for the senatorial contest includes N3 million for the Expression of Interest Form and N17 million for the Nomination Form.
For House of Representatives, the Expression of Interest Form will cost N1 million, while the Nomination Form goes for N9 million.
For aspirants contesting for State House of Assembly seats, the total fee is N2 million; N500,000 for the Expression of Interest Form and N1.5 million for the Nomination Form.
However, the party clarified that female aspirants and persons living with disabilities will only be required to purchase the Expression of Interest Form, as the Nomination Form will be issued to them free.
Youths aged between 25 and 40 are entitled to a 50% discount on the Nomination Form fee.
The forms are available at the Directorate of Organisation on the 2nd floor of the APC National Headquarters, Wuse II, Abuja.
Delegates intending to vote at the congresses must be financial members of the party, with a minimum of three months’ dues at the rate of N200 per month.
Delegate forms will be sold for N5,000.
The primary elections will hold between July 22 and July 26, with final candidates to be published on Saturday, July 26.
It was learnt that campaigns will officially commence on Saturday, July 26 and end on Thursday, August 14, ahead of the bye-elections fixed for Saturday, August 16, 2025.
“The party is committed to conducting transparent primaries that comply with the Electoral Act,” Argungu said in the statement.
He urged prospective aspirants and members to adhere strictly to the guidelines.
“Only those who have paid their dues for at least a year up to July 2025 and whose names appear on the membership register will be eligible to vote or be voted for,” Argungu added.
