The 5th edition of the Trendupp Awards held on Sunday, July 13, 2025,, at the Balmoral Event Center in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Themed "The Force of Influence," the award is a platform for audacious content creators, influencers, and creatives to receive support and recognition across Africa.
Hosted by the Bold Force KieKie, the event was attended by celebrities and influencers alike, including Veekee James, Denrele Edun, Akin Faminu, Gilmore, Peller, and Jarvis.
Other notable guests included Stan Nze, Liquorose, Folagade Banks, Iyo, Pooja Media, Purple Speedy, and Crispdal, amongst other familiar social influencers.
The guests and nominees dazzled on the red carpet, truly shining like the audacious ones.
The audience was thrilled with performances from different groups and acts, including Reekado Banks.. The highlight of the night, as expected, was when the winners of the various categories were announced, particularly the coveted Force of Influence category, which Veekee James bagged.
Also striking was the moment Opeyemi Famakin, represented by Jay Onair, dedicated his award to his 'haters' on Twitter (X). He said, "Blowing is hard, but staying relevant is harder. Shout out to TrendUpp Africa for this award. Shout out to my IG and TikTok family for loving me unconditionally.
"And shout out to the street urchins on Twitter who can't keep my name out of their mouths. If y'all talked more about those whom you liked and ignored me, you'd actually make the people you liked popular."
