President Tinubu is not doing well- APC Chieftain

A former All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy National Chairman (North) aspirant, Dr. Sunny Moniedafe, has openly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the president “is not doing well” and warning that the ruling party risks collapse due to internal crises and poor leadership.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Tuesday, Moniedafe expressed deep concerns about the state of the APC and the administration’s performance two years into Tinubu’s presidency.

“I think we are heading for the rocks. And I’m sorry to say this – President Tinubu is not doing well,” he said, pointing to growing dissatisfaction among party stakeholders.

He highlighted demands from former All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) members, who recently insisted that the vice-presidential ticket for 2027 remain within their bloc, noting, “I don’t blame them. They have a point. Everyone wants to protect their interest.”

Moniedafe criticized the lingering influence of legacy blocs—ANPP, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), and Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)—within the APC, arguing that the party should have unified beyond these divisions.

He accused stakeholders of failing to defend Tinubu’s policies, stating, “They do not even know what to talk about,” and suggested that the president should have established a forum of elders to act as the party’s conscience.

He also questioned Tinubu’s early focus on securing a second term, remarking, “I have never heard, seen, or read about someone looking for a second term from the first day he was sworn in.”

The APC chieftain further expressed dismay over policy decisions, particularly the removal of fuel subsidies, which he described as controversial.

Frustrated by the party’s trajectory, Moniedafe hinted at possibly leaving the APC if conditions do not improve, stating, “Don’t be shocked hearing from me.” Despite his criticisms, he wished the new party leadership success.
