Poly Ibadan Students Protest Over Renaming School After Ex-Governor Olunloyo

Students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, have staged a mass protest against Governor Seyi Makinde's decision to rename the institution after late Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo.

The students on Tuesday morning blocked the entrance gates of the polytechnic and the busy Sango-Eleyele Road, causing traffic congestion and stranding commuters.

The students are protesting the renaming of the institution to Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan, citing disagreement with the decision. The protest has caused significant traffic disruption, with commuters and residents stranded on the busy Sango-Eleyele Road.

Many staff members were unable to access the institution due to the blockade.
