Speed Darlington, the controversial rapper, has responded to
comments made by his colleague Sodiq ‘CDQ‘ Yusuf, stating that he would never
work with him, even for $100 billion.
CDQ had given his thoughts on Darlington during a recent
interview on the Echoo Room podcast, hosted by former Big Brother Naija star
Teddy A.
When asked which artiste he would refuse to collaborate with
at any price, CDQ paused briefly before firmly stating, “For whatever fee, even
$100 billion, I cannot work with Speed Darlington”.
However, in a recent live session with his fans, Darlington dismissed CDQ’s statement, claiming he doesn’t even know who the rapper is.
Mocking CDQ, the controversial entertainer questioned his
colleague’s relevance and financial status, suggesting he had never held N50
million in his life.
“CDQ just mentioned
your name. Enough! I don’t know who he is. He is not worthy of me knowing him.
If I don’t know you, you are a zero. Give it up for QDT,” he said, laughing.
“How does that sound. A poor man who has not touched N50
million. You don’t respect me.”
Darlington, known for his eccentric online persona and viral
antics, has a history of public disputes with fellow artistes, including
Portable and Burna Boy.
On June 27, the National Agency for the Prohibition of
Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) declared him wanted for alleged rape,
cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
This was after he failed to honour an invitation for
questioning over his public admission of having sexual intercourse with a
15-year-old girl.
Following the intense backlash, Darlington backtracked on
his earlier confession, claiming it was entirely fictional.
