Buhari’s Daughters Express Gratitude to Nigerians for Forgiving Late Father


Aisha (Hanan) and Hadiza (Nana) Buhari, daughters of the late Former President Muhammadu Buhari, have expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nigerians who have forgiven their father for any perceived wrongs during his lifetime. 


The former president passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in a London hospital after a prolonged battle with an undisclosed illness.In an emotional interview with BBC Hausa, Hanan shared her deep grief, describing her father’s death as “like losing a part of my body.” 


She fondly recalled his sense of humor, saying, “What I will miss most about him is his sense of humour. I look up to him as a part of me.” 


Hanan also thanked Nigerians for their forgiveness, stating, “We have nothing to say to them except thank you, thank God.” 


She described her father as a man of good intentions who connected with the common people, adding that his discipline inspired her to study, pray, and find joy in life.Hadiza, the eldest daughter, echoed her sister’s sentiments, emphasizing her father’s love for Nigerians. 


Recounting a poignant moment during his treatment in London, she said, “When I told him I was returning to Nigeria, he said, ‘Greet Nigerians.’” Hadiza’s words reflect the late president’s enduring connection to the people he served.
