Femi Adesina, former Special Adviser to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, revealed that Buhari didn't own a private residence in London despite frequent medical trips there.
Adesina spoke on Tuesday when he appeared on Channels Television.
According to Adesina, Buhari relied on wealthy friends, such as the Dangotes and Abdusalamis, to cover his medical expenses and other bills. Adesina even mentioned that Buhari used a friend's private jet for his last trip to London.
Additionally, Adesina addressed criticism over Buhari's children attending elite schools abroad, stating that their tuition was also handled by friends.
The ex-presidential spokesman pointed out that the former President mostly stayed at the Nigerian High Commission during his medical trips.
“There was a time he was in the High Commission for many months when he went on that eight-month medical vacation,” Adesina said.
According to him, Buhari had been consistent with his medical team in London even before becoming President, which explained his preference for treatment in the UK.

This is a shame, if he kept rallying round wealthy friends that the government system enabled to be rich. Should the country not do for itself and ensure that everyone gets the same type of service publicly. One that can be equal to other countries in the world. It is really a shame to read this.
