Eleven state chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have vowed to deliver a combined 15.2 million votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, with robust mobilization efforts underway across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones.
The North Central zone, comprising Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau, leads the charge, pledging six million votes following the appointment of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as APC National Chairman on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Saleh Zazzaga, Chairman of the APC Forum, declared, “North Central is fully behind Tinubu.
His decision to return the chairmanship to our region guarantees six million votes. The region is secured for 2027.”In Akwa Ibom, the APC targets 3.5 million votes, triple the number secured in 2023.
The state party spokesperson said, “We expect no less than 3.5 million votes by the end of registration, driven by aggressive mobilization.”Edo State’s APC, led by Governor Monday Okpebholo, committed to 2.5 million votes.
Publicity Secretary Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie noted, “Mass defections have quadrupled our membership.
Other parties in Edo are virtually non-existent, making our target achievable.”In Benue, the APC aims to recruit five million members and deliver two million votes. Spokesman James Orngunga stated, “Tinubu’s support has shifted perceptions despite the 2023 Muslim-Muslim ticket controversy.
We’ll surpass our previous margin with a landslide victory.”In the South-West, Oyo and Ekiti chapters pledged 1.2 million votes combined.
Oyo’s APC, led by spokesperson Olawale Sadare, targets over 800,000 votes—double its 2023 figure—through door-to-door campaigns and a membership goal of 220,000 to 250,000.
In Ekiti, where Tinubu secured 201,494 votes in 2023, spokesperson Segun Dipe expressed confidence in delivering at least 400,000 votes, citing the president’s performance and Governor Oyebanji’s achievements.
The pledges reflect a coordinated APC strategy to bolster Tinubu’s re-election bid, with all indications showing strong party enthusiasm tempered by skepticism from some Nigerians about the feasibility of these ambitious targets.
