Prominent lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has criticized the alleged deplorable condition of the Bola Tinubu International Conference Center (ICC) in Abuja, recently refurbished at a reported cost of N39 billion.
In June 2025, President Tinubu commissioned the renovated ICC, originally built in 1991 under the Babangida administration and renamed in his honor.
The renovation was overseen by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who claimed the facility has since generated N700 million in revenue.
However, in an X post on July 20, 2025, Adeyanju expressed dismay after attending a birthday event at the ICC.
He described the venue as poorly maintained, with non-functional air conditioners, and questioned the N39 billion expenditure, stating he doubts even N5 billion was spent on the repairs.
