The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Kano State Command, has announced that 58 inmates from its facilities are participating in the 2025 National Examination Council (NECO), Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
This was disclosed in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Musbahu Kofar-Nasarawa, on Sunday, July 6, in Kano.
This development was made possible by the Kano State Government, led by Governor Abba Yusuf, who paid the registration fees for the inmates.
The NCoS Kano State Command expressed gratitude to the governor for his continued support, noting that the initiative would boost inmates' morale and offer them a second chance at education and a brighter future. The command remains committed to providing a conducive environment for inmate rehabilitation and reformation.
The gesture is seen as a testament to the state government's commitment to the welfare, rehabilitation, and reintegration of inmates. The command is proud to have the support of the Kano State Government in this endeavor.
