A 25-year-old man, Usman Mohammed, has died after being stabbed in a scuffle with some men over his girlfriend, Halima Usman, in Minna, Niger State.
The incident occurred when the men approached Halima and offered her N5,000, which she declined. The situation escalated into a confrontation, resulting in Usman being stabbed.
Usman was rushed to the hospital but died from stab injuries. The police have arrested one suspect, Ahmed Mohammed, and are searching for the other two involved. The case is under investigation.
The Niger State Police Command officers visited the crime scene, documented evidence, and transferred the deceased’s body to the hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy.
One of the suspects, identified as Ahmed Mohammed, was said to have been arrested in connection with the incident while the command has launched a manhunt to apprehend the remaining two suspects.
“An investigation is currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and bring all perpetrators to justice,” Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Police Command stated on Thursday.
