A tragic incident has occurred in Zaria, Kaduna State, where an 11-year-old girl, Fadila, allegedly died after being beaten by her mother, Khadija, over a missing N100.
The mother accused Fadila of stealing the money given to her during Sallah celebrations, leading to a violent outburst.
According to reports, Khadija had a history of physically abusing Fadila, who was a street hawker.
The father, Mustapha Musa, was unaware of the incident until he returned home to find out about his daughter's death.
Khadija admitted to the beating but claimed it was not intentional, citing stress as a factor.
Local vigilante members were the first to intervene in the matter before handing the case over to the police. The case is now under police investigation.
