A 43-year-old man named Kareem (also referred to as Kazeem) died after jumping into a well in the Edun area of Ilorin West Local Government Area, Kwara State, on June 06.
According to reports, Kareem was under the influence of synthetic cannabinoids, locally known as "Colorado," when the incident occurred.
Kareem became erratic after taking the drug and jumped into the well shortly after returning from Eid prayers.
The Kwara State Fire Service received a distress call at 10:29 am and quickly deployed firefighters to the scene.
The firefighters successfully retrieved Kareem's body from the well.
The body was handed over to Inspector Babatunde Amos of the C Division Police Station in Ilorin.
The Ministry awaits formal identification and claim of the body by Kareem's family.
