A devastating sandfall at a local block-making site in Yar-doka Village, Kaduna State, has claimed 11 lives. The incident occurred on Monday, and the Kaduna State Police Command confirmed it on Wednesday, June 03.
According to DSP Mansir Hassan, the police spokesperson, the victims were working at the site when the sand suddenly gave way, burying them under its weight. Seven others sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at a local health centre.
