The Presidency has said the controversial Muslim-Muslim ticket that brought President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima to power in 2023 was no longer an issue.
It insisted that earlier fears about Islamisation had been
dispelled.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and
Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated this in an interview with Daily Trust on
Thursday.
“Christians are living their lives. The president even
attended the Pope’s inauguration in Rome. There’s nothing to worry about.
“Many of the names being speculated as potential running
mates are Muslims. So again, this isn’t an issue,” Onanuga said.
Meanwhile, the Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has warned the
APC and Tinubu against replacing Vice President Shettima ahead of the 2027
elections.
Professor Ishaq Akintola, in a statement signed by its
executive director, said any move to drop Shettima would be ill-advised.

This news confirms two things:
ReplyDelete1. The slaughtering of Christians by Fulani terrorist herdsmen/jihadists all over Nigeria do not concern the Federal Government. They actually don't care, including the recent Benue massacre, the Jos Christmas massacre and the Gombe Easter procession killings. These aren't against Christians.
2. Shetima is being removed from the ticket in 2027 as the running mate of Tinubu.
Good riddance tho.
why're you been economical with the truth? what Christians are been slaughtered or are the killings happening in Benue purely Christians? or are you going to say the bombings that were previously happening in the North were only targeted to Christians?
Deleteplease choose a struggle, do you want Muslim-Muslim ticket or Muslim- Christian? one day, you people in Nigeria will realise leadership is not about religion
