Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), has lost his senatorial seat in the Nasarawa
western zone to Ahmed Wadada, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party
(SDP).
On Saturday, Nigerians went to the polls to elect a
president and members of the national assembly.
Adamu was not able to deliver Shehu Tukur, the APC
candidate, to replace him at the upper chambers.
Nasiruddeen Baba, the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) returning officer for Nasarawa west senatorial district,
announced Wadada as the winner at the zonal collation centre in Keffi.
Wadada polled 96,488 votes, while Adamu got 47,717 votes.
Musa Galadima of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored
46,820 votes while Bala Tongurma of the Labour Party scored 33,228 votes.
