Police in Jigawa State have burst a suspected syndicate of ATM fraudsters that are terrorizing Dutse metropolis.
Spokesman of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam disclosed this in a press statement issued to newsmen.
He said this came after the police received report from one Usman Nasir of Albasu Local Government of Kano State that one Nuhu Gambo duped him of his ATM card.
He said the suspect deceitfully collected the victim’s ATM card with the pretense of teaching him how to withdraw the sum of twenty thousand naira (N20,000.00k) from his bank account.
The suspect then swapped the ATM card with another card and took to his heels.
Shiisu said on receiving the report, detectives swung into action and arrested the suspect.
He said the suspect confessed to having committed the offense with his accomplices, one Alhassan and Baban Baba, A.K.A August, now at-large.
The police spokesman said he was found with twenty (20) pieces of ATM cards belonging to different banks.
He said the case was under investigation.

ReplyDeleteSimilar thing happened to me in u.b.a @ lugbe federal house Abuja. They use to be three person and one of them will look like an elderly statesman man. That elderly mugu is the coordinator. He will interrupt you because is watching you Keely to dictate any error message in your transaction and another person will step close pretend to help and before you know cancel your transaction and remove your card and then put another card turn it upside down for you to put your pin. The third person is to confront you not to disrespect the elderly mugu in case you understand what is happening and you tend to confront the elderly mugu.
