President Muhammadu Buhari will begin an official visit to France and Britain on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.

At his first stop in Strasbourg, France, President Buhari will on Wednesday, February 3, address a special session of the European Union Parliament to be attended by members of the executive and legislative arms of the Union.

The President’s address, according to a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, is expected to focus on terrorism, violent extremism, corruption, Nigeria and Africa’s current security, economic and developmental challenges, as well as the need for greater support from the European Union and advanced nations for their rapid resolution.

President Buhari will also hold talks with the President of the European Parliament, Mr. Martin Schulz and the President of the European Commission, Mr. Jean-Claude Juncker on the same issues before leaving Strasbourg for London to join other world leaders at the Supporting Syria and The Region Conference scheduled to open in the British capital on Thursday, February 4, 2016.

He will use the opportunity of his participation in the conference which is being co-hosted by Britain, Germany, Norway, Kuwait and the United Nations to continue his push for more global understanding, collaboration and support for Nigeria and other countries in the frontlines of the war against terrorism who are striving to overcome its very adverse effects on affected populations.

Buhari is due back in Nigeria at the weekend.

  6. I wander and ponder on all your comments and it becomes obvious that a lot of people need to know and understand how economy is being run. 1. The president is not the one that will come and give you physical food, road, light etc that makes life beautiful. 2. He work with policies and formulate laws that will bring about foreign investments and create a working environments for local investors. His travelling is for all these things to work and believe me, they are not fun at all. Please for those of you who have flown before, you can attest that travelling or being in the air is not fun at all. Let us give this man a break and encourage him. he met a down trodden economy and he is working so hard to make us comfortable but rather than encouragements, he gets this attitude from people like you who refused to see the damage the past leaders have done to this great country. Please let us change our attitude and start seeing positivity. Thank you

    1. He met the largest economy in Africa my friend. Fuel was 87 naira when he came but now,it is 200 plus. Dollar was 160 Naira plus when he came, but it is now 306 Naira...Stop fooling yourself with past administration. Buharia is incharge since 8mnths now and the largest African Economy he inherited going down everyday under his watch...The worst is that he has done nothing since assuming office till now. He is only feeding Nigerians lies and propaganda everyday..Traveling from one country to another without any good economic returns to Nig.
