Audu’s son condemns dad’s replacement

Mohammed, the eldest son of the late Prince Abubakar Audu who died during the Kgi State governorship election, said yesterday that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had not informed him of the party’s replacement for his dad.

Any attempt to replace him while the mourning period “is ongoing is a backyard move”, he said.

He spoke at a news conference in Audu’s hometown, Ogonicha, in Ofu local government area of the state. The news conference was attended by the late Audu’s running mate Hon. James Faleke.

Mohammed who declined to speak further on the issue because the occasion was the Eighth day prayer for the repose of the soul of his father, promised to speak further at a later date.

“Our mission here is to pray for the repose of his soul. It is too soon to be discussing politics. I will like us to focus more on the mourning.

“As you can see, people are still wearing long faces”.

Faleke declined to comment on Audu’s replacement. He promised to address a news conference today.
