The National Cordinator of Oodua Peoples’ Congress, Chief Gani Adams has explained that his group resolved to endorse President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term, because of the promise to implement the report of national confab.
Adams also explained that, the OPC decided to dump former Lagos State governor and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tibubu for the People’s Democratic Party candidate because the former governor had lost the focus.
The OPC leader said this, during the Olokun festival and 2015 Lisabi day held in Abeokuta , Weekend, describing the festival as very important to Yoruba race.
While fielding questions with newsmen on the coming elections, Adams disclosed that, most groups have adopted President Jonathan for second term because of the pledge to implement 633 recommendations of the confab.
According to him, If it is the wish of President Jonathan to implement the outcome of the National Conference, let him be the President for a second term. That’s our position. That’s the position of OPC. Gani Adams, Fasehun; that’s the position of Afenifere. That’s the position of the Yoruba Council of Elders, that’s the position of many self-determination groups.
“Yet some civil society groups have kept quiet on these issues. So, we need to move this country forward on the basis of structure and not about saying Buhari will come to perform miracle. When Buhari was in power, it was Buhari/Idiagbon government, not only Buhari. Idiagbon did much of the job in government. Buhari was just the administrator. Idiagbon was the master-strategist of that government”, he said .
While explaining the reason the OPC dumped Tinubu’s party, for Jonathan, Adams said ” and my brother, Tinubu ,was the one that said that it’s a diversionary tactics .Tinubu was one of the people we learnt true Federalism from. I learnt true Federalism from Tinubu. We saw him as a hero 12 years ago, but , a sudden change in his ideology gave me a serious thought. I don’t have any serious issue about them because I’m not a government official but notwithstanding I have the right to defend my own future. I’m leading an organization of millions of people and I will not lead them the wrong way”. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Where are the millions of people?
ReplyDeletePetrol dollar!!
ReplyDeleteHe speaks sense, Buhari ad APC has shown several times that they don't support the national confab. Anyone who vote for them doesn't want the national conference which the way forward to be effective.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it now that Goodluck Jonathan is talking about adopting the CONFAB report. What CONFAB are you talking about. Something that was stagemanaged. Terrorist like you.
Delete9 millio dollar contract speaking
DeleteAnother Adedibu is born in the SW.
ReplyDeleteHe speaks sense, Buhari and APC has shown several times that they don't support the national confab. Anyone who votes for them doesn't want the national conference which is the way forward to be effective.
ReplyDeleteRubbish! You are just as unlettered as Gani Adams. Where are the millions of followers? This man is being seduced by the contracts from the government and nothing more. These are people ready to sell their birth rights for one Naira.
DeleteWho's Gani? The only real Gani we all know died years back and his good works we still see. OPC is under Dr Federick Faseun (a scholar) and a man with dignity and intelligence and not a thug. So tell who's this one sounding like FFK who has lost every sense of purpose because of his belly. I know you will one day trace your way back to your roots. A river that forgets it's source dries ...
ReplyDeleteThis unlettered carpenter/thug? Who read the confab documents to him, because I know he cannot read? He would have said he is in support of GEJ for the juicy pipeline guard contract given him and his Niger Delta colleagues in crime. Wonders will never end!
ReplyDeleteWhat does this thug know about confab, Olosi. Confab is dead on arrival. Omo ale.
ReplyDeleteThe real name of Gani is OWOWUMI . Pipeline DIOLA. GANI ADAMS which useless Confab are they talking about to create 16 more states . Under Nigeria law without the yeye confab been approved by National assembly and two thirds of present 36 states house assemblies it is worth less than a tissue paper and there is nothing an original Clueless GEJ can do aboit it
ReplyDeleteSo PDP has come up with another deceit. Jona, you can't decieve us this time. The outcome of that CONFAB is baseless. The composition of member was faulty. Truth is that you and your members lack common sense. Jona, you would have asked Gani to hold on with this protest cos APC just alleged 2 days ago that what happened today was in the offine. You still went ahead and asked them to gather and unleash terror on the people you are soliciting vote from. Jona you dey try at all at all. You to bad for character and behaviour. Tell your teacher, IBB that Nigerians are already used to this style. Let him come up with another story. Stupid man who obtained a PHD in Non-Performance and Dubious Character.
ReplyDeleteYou see, something really bothers me about Nigeria and its citizen.
DeleteA govt came out years ago and said based on recommendation he believes in a national confab. He setup the confab and spent BILLIONS of Naira on the confab not to talk of the several months spent also. Now let me ask a question, are you saying he setup that Confab and spent Billions of Naira and wasted peoples time for no reason. Does it mean right from the on set, he doesn't plan to implement it or what or why will he be negotiating for votes with National confab? Why did he setup a National confab in the first instance and wasted that money? This is the questions Nigerians should be asking.
Why will a president promise me that he will implement a confab policy to gain my vote. The question to him as I have said earlier will be: "why did you have the confab to start me?"
A lot bothers me about Nigeria and I hope Nigerians will start asking questions. The problem to me is not only the govt but the people also; people should start asking question.
Adeyinka Fadehan
Very good talk Adeyinka , it is just unfortunate that APC does not have the interest of Nigerians at heart , all they want is to get the power and scoutle democracy and take us back to 30 years, may God forbid
ReplyDeleteOne thing have noticed in course of this election is that we have a lot o educated fools who seems not be able to differentiate between good or bad, how can a right thinking person be thinking of voting for GEJ? If you are a politician l can understand but for a citizen of this country l mean we the masses is unbelievable are we so contented with suffering? Are so ok with poverty? Are going to be allowing this people to taking us for fool or is that really who we are? Even if the opposition will not do better, at least lets try them first.
DeleteIf GEJ is voted in, he is coming to spend another 4 yearstrying to figure out nothing. The guy has no clue on governance. We need accountability. How much was in our foreign reserves when he came in and how much we have there now? Forget about confab it's all propaganda. All we ask for is simple income and expenditure and forget about balance sheet for now. Don't put the cart before the horse ...
DeleteThe truth is that Jonathan has no power to implement the confab report without the approval of the National Assembly. All the Confab resolutions are constitutional matters that Jona has NO control over. Can someone ask Jonathan to tell us what the position of Govt is on the Confab report? Has a white paper been issued on the Confab report? We are no Fools o.
ReplyDeleteGEJ must go, we have already make up our mind' more so who is Gain?
ReplyDeleteOga Jona can say anything to go back to Aso rock but no way.We will only implore him to return all the loot and beg Buhari not to jail him because Madam patience is affraid of feeding her husband in prison forgotten that we are no longer in millitary era.Everybody should feel free to vote Buhari. He can not Jail Oga Jona.
ReplyDeleteAnother means to waste public fund, that's the confab. He is only using it to woo gullible people, telling them he will implement it. Shame on him and his followers. He has never addressed any critical issue of the country and I bet you, in the next four years, he won't address any. The 10 years will amount to absolute waste. Sai! Baba. O.J
ReplyDeleteLet's wait and see who will remain in Aso Rock and who will go in but let me sound it clearly to you, Jonathan remain in Aso Rock no matter whatsoever, he is the man we want now, Gani is telling them the truth now but some people are making a joke out of this but let's wait and see the outcome of the whole on 28th march, 2015
ReplyDeleteWho is this fool? We all know why you endorse Jona but just know that you are entitle to a single vote 28th is what we all are waiting for. Baba Buhari just be in good health please.
ReplyDeleteIf GEJ has power over the national confab why he has not implement it since? And why must a sensible person will mortgage his future with implementation of national confab. This is an evidence that truly Jonah is in Lagos distributing dollar to the fools. The mater on ground is that every one want change and enough of GEJ ruling. If he likes he can continues to waste money what I know is that change must come to stay come May 29.
ReplyDeleteA government that has vision doesn't stay longer for people to notice it which PDP has not shown that they have vision.
ReplyDeleteAnd l will keep saying it for those that are not politicians and who doesn't reason like them that
A FOOL DOES SAME THING ALL OVER AGAIN AND EXPECT DIFFERENT RESULT.
