Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday condemned the pronouncement of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at the public presentation of the biography of Akin Ambode, who has been endorsed as the next governor of the state by the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
In a statement by the Publicity Secretary of Lagos PDP, Taofik Gani, Oba Akiolu, purportedly endorsed Ambode and advised other aspirants to concede to him.
Gani said, "In a show of shame and an attempt to support the wish of Tinubu, the oba reportedly endorsed Akin Ambode as the next befitting Governor of Lagos State after Fashola. In a very undemocratic manner, the Oba went further to berate other aspirants to the office, counselling' them to concede to Akin Ambode.
"Now that Oba Akiolu has openly manifested his partisanship and favouritism for a party and aspirant, we have no choice but to caution the Oba.
"The oba's action is regrettable and very unbecoming of a ruler expected to be a father for all. His decision to openly descend into the murky waters of partisan politics has unequivocally confirmed him as not fit and proper to be a ruler, talk less of Oba of Lagos.
"He must therefore apologise to Lagosians and publicly retract the endorsement of Akin Ambode within seven days."
Oba Rilwan Akinolu,kudos to you,you own nobody any apology.Oba is a citizen like me and you hence he has his own opinion.In the hisitory of PDP in nIgeria what have u archieved?nothing.Get lost jare.
ReplyDeletePDP didn't say anything when Oba of Benin endorsed President Jonathan, why are they berating someone for expressing his freedom of choice. Go and do your homework, elections are still months away.
ReplyDeletePDP should put their crumbled house in order. After endorsing criminals in other state, no space for criminals in Lagos. Ambode or not, may the best man win in Lagos. Better than Fashola is what we are praying for. Not thugs and ex convicts.

ReplyDeleteTinubu should allow Nigerians 2 choose whom their leaders should be nd not him representg Nigerians both on Federal nd State level. Leadership I suggest shouldn't be compromised. Therefore, as a citizen of this great country I would advise we all rally round His Highness Oba Akinlu on. Suggestions on changes of leadership , not in Lagos state only but also on National, State, Local levels. I believe dis country has been long overdue for an overhaul if we must avoid a state stampede nd total collapse freedom nd liberty.I see no reason why any reasonable nd well wisher of would oppose dis suggestion. We all must rise nd speak a loud voice with a clear nd honest intention 2 get dis country out of its present predicarement. I believe there's no where we can call home except our country. Pls let join hand together by bringing more usefull suggestions. Nigeria's for all of us nd we must allow d reckless politicians 2 gound this country.
