Ex Niger-Delta militant, Asari Dokubo says the Chibok girls are not missing, calls it a 'SCAM'

Ex-militant leader, Asari Dokubo provides a new twist to the abduction of the 234 Chibok school girls.

Dokubo has joined the small, but vocal set of Nigerians who believe that the kidnapping of over 200 girls from a boarding school in Chibok, Borno never happened.

In a series of posts on Facebook, Dokubo claimed that the early contradictory messages from the principal of the school and local officials essentially rendered the whole story untrue.

This is a post he shared from another person’s timeline.

And just for good measure, he repeated his assertion.

BBC journalist, Fidelis Mbah was among the first to react to the report on Twitter.

@fidelisMbah: Pass the message; No girls are missing. #Chibok is a scam – #NigerDelta ex-militant leader #Mujahid #Dokubo #Asari #BringBackOurGirls

@fidelisMbah: #Asari should ask himself; why did the #Nigerian government accept international assistance If no girls are missing? #BringBackOurGirls

  10. Nigerians and their ethnic sentiments. People no longer examine points and issues but people that made the points and raised the question. Former President Obasanjo in his letter to President Goodluck raised some issues and accused him of many things. Ethnic sentiments and bias came in. People started attacking Obasanjo forgetting the points and issues he raised. Now Asari Dokubo has made some points an raised some questions which require answers. Rather than calling for the answers to these questions, they are attacking him. I think, if the principal contradicted herself in her statement in such a critical issue, then she should answer some questions. The senator that provide information about the where about of the missing girls should also be questioned. He should tell Nigerians how he managed to get the information. The government that ordered that exams be taken against WEAC directives should be interrogated. He did he order for the exam without adequate security? Let's ask the right questions and call for answers to them. If you don't ask and another asks, don't attack the person rather join your voice to reecho the question. I am not a fan of Asari Dokubo and I am not from his tribe, but I think he made right observations. Think over his observations before making comments regardless of your tribe.

  11. Dokubo you better think twice, stop been sentimental, Ok what did you said about the score of school children killed in Yobe, is it lie? then why should this be lie.what of over 300 villagers killed in Gamboru? what of the barrack they attacked in Cameroon. Why you didnt question the army when they retracted their statement. I am not a politician but your linking of APC to Boko haram is baseless, why should they destroy their stronghold(North) think deeply, if we in the north would be thinking like you, then we will say its the ruling party that were trying to destroy Apc stronghold before 2015. The PLAIN TRUTH is that Boko haram is a purely ideological movement like Al Qaeda,Taliban, Al shabab, etc that seized the corrupted situation in Nigeria to recruit members. But if we will go by your way of thinking, then we will say Jonathan has earlier said Boko haram are within his government.......

U are not even different from shekau, u are a militant and have wasted a lot of innocent lives as well, u just decided to calm down because of the millions of dollar being paid into ur account by president Jonathan. All the killing of innocent lives in the country is also a scam? The bombing, killing of male students and military men are all scam abi? Government should pls make good effort to bring back these little children.

  15. People doesn't use their head again just bcs of being ethno-religoous bigotic. So bcs they didn't killed them the way they did last time it is now a scam. Are we denying the killings going on? Can the villagers come to Abuja ? Even journalists cannot go to such places freely. Pls this is a shame. GEJ always look for cheap way out. Being from minority tribe is not any reason for being clueless with minor brain.

  17. Lets put Parochialism apart, if you take a critical look at the whole thing you will agree with me that the majority of the states protesting this issue are mainly ACN states e.g Osun, Lagos, Oyo etc. I sense a serous political play.

    1. Very funny contribution( but it's not) so you expected a PDP control state to participate in the protest? My fellow think twice.
You know it's very funny when some people were demanding for the names and pictures of the abducted girl, i ask, what "relevant" does it makes? or if they see the names and pictures, what are they gonna do with it? (or will that #bring back our girls#?)

    2. Yes it will make much a security sense to ascertain the identities of missing girls. First, it will disabuse the minds of those who think that this another scam. Secondly, it will help security expert to analyze the various submissions of madam principal of the school. It's most probably that she is under duress to be making inconsistent statements in such a sensitive issue.

  20. I am still waiting for Baba Obj's view on this whole scenario. I sense a big package of political propaganda. Because my question has been - will finding the missing girls bring an end to insurgency?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Mr Anonymous, I understand what you're trying to say and at the same time I see Asari's point of view. However, the issue is that these girls are not with their parents homes, nor are they in relatives' homes and no one is telling the the parents and guardians where they are, hence the word "MISSING". The explanations by responsible authorities and even government are less than acceptable and flawed in delivery.

I think the Jonathan government is taking a step in the right direction, by allowing others to help, he too must throw his weight on the neighboring countries to co-operate and stop handling the situation with "kid-gloves". It calls for a decision to also interrogate the "SACRED COWS",

On the part of the police, they're doing little to salvage their shameful faces. The faces of those girls should be in every publications, so information may come forth even anonymously, also the faces of already known terrorists should be in the faces of the public let those who are scared, at least shun them and treat them with scorn and disdain. The society today has abandoned our age old customs and even sold it, for less than nothing, to those who don't have.

Keep your eyes peeled, watch and pray. If the country is torn apart, we'll all be affected. Some more than others, but affected nonetheless.

    Arise O' Compatriots.

  23. ASARI Dokubo is a fool and a syncophant. His greediness and selfishness has beclouded his thinking. He is more concerned about what he will eat from Jonathan's administration than the safe return of innocent young girls abducted by wicked men. ANSARI DOKUBO IS A FAKE AND A SCAM. His utterances are fake and it shows how self centred he is!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Mr Asari ur right, this is pure political propaganda nd gang up against GEJ. I have said it b4 nd am still repeating myself, the principal of the school should be arrest for proper interrogation on this matter cos she knows the truth nd no girl was abducted. SCAM.

    ReplyDelete
  25. GEJ knows what he is doing. The north is going to be disgraced soon. When the news of no girls are missing starts flooding international. Then we will see what moral justification exists for liars to rule our country Nigeria. God bless Nigeria!

  26. Please #BringBackOurGirls and stop cooking up stories, Nigeria is greater than any man's ambition to be President again!

    Assuming but without accepting the contradictions in the stories of parties involved as alleged by Asari;

I have a couple of questions too, do you mind if I proceed?

    1. Asari should ask himself; why did the #Nigerian government accept international assistance If no girls are missing?

    2. How does Asari want to explain the testimony on National Television of the two girls that escaped from the terrorists?

    3. How does Asari want to explain the video in which Shekau claimed he was going to sell those girls?

4 How does Asari want to explain a CNN interview of one of the parents of the missing girls agonizing over the abduction daughter who is among the missing girls? (http://edition.cnn.com/2014/05/07/world/africa/nigeria-family-speaks/index.html?iid=article_sidebar)

    5. How does Asari want to explain all the atrocities that have been committed by boko haram/

    6. How does Asari want to explain the destroyed school premises? Somebody burnt it down to give the President a bad name abi? Spare us please!

Please note that some discrepancies or questions do not erase the fact that over 200 girls are missing, please don't insult our intelligence because of your shallow ethnic sentiments possibly heightened by pecuniary inducement via protection of pipeline contracts.(Where in the world do they give militants contracts to protect pipelines???)

    May God help Nigeria

  30. The pictures of this girls can help to identify their location. Maybe some of them have been abandoned in various remote villages where they cannot escape and If you know how big and less developed the northern states are, then you will agree with me that these girls could be kept under the custody of some primitive Hausa old men and women in the Villages where its members within the community dont listen to news nor know anything about the activities of Boko Harram. But it will be easy for a passerby to identify any of these girls if the pictures are released because you never can tell when you see a lost stranger around and cant do anything to help because you will think she is a wanderer or knows where she is going it. Furthermore. these girls could have been identified easy by people living in remote places if their pictures are published because naturally, you can always see an estranged girl in the north without anyone concerned about the welfare of that particular girl.
