JTF Arrests Yoruba Man Alleged To Be Boko Haram Commander

The Joint Military Task Force (JTF) has arrested a Yoruba man, Suleiman Mohammed, who hails from Ogbomosho, Oyo State and is allegedly operational Commander of the Boko Haram sect in Kano.

According to THEWILL, an online publication, Mohammed was detained on Friday alongside his wife and five children after a raid at Farawa Babbanlayi where the military found sophisticated weaponry. He has since been flown to Abuja.

Kano State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, who confirmed the arrest of the sect leader said no shot was fired during the raid, adding that 1000 rounds of ammunitions, 10 crates of IEDs, a riffle and 3 pistols were seized from him.

“The arrest came after a tip off from the public; and security agencies successfully arrested the top sect leader, whom we believe to be the operational commander of the sect in the state," he said.

Idris further stated that Suleiman is likely to be the person behind the series of organised deadly attacks in the state, particularly, the attack on Christian worshippers inside the BUK campus and the targeted killings of innocent persons in the state.

  9. I can assure you that this man called Sulaiman Mohammed is not from Ogbomoso, south west Nigeria. His names are typically Hausa/Fulani not Yoruba names. Assuming he is a muslim, by tradition, he must have at least a yoruba name. Sulaiman should be asked his yoruba name and the name of his accentral home at Ogbomoso. In passing, the Ogbomoso people are travellers and they are noted for peaceful coexistence. If truly, Sulaimon is from Ogbomoso, (which I doubt) he should be treated as a criminal, tried, and punished. A thorough investigation should be carried out about the true identity of the culprit by the authorities.

  10. We are missing a point here fellow Nigerian, whosoever involve himself or herself in this such act of mass killing for nothing sake, wherever the person comes from is immaterial, what he was arrested for should be paramount, forget where he comes from, he is a Nigerian, killing fellow Nigerians, he deserves to face d wroth of law of d land,
Please do not let us be biased in our comment, we should all have one mission as a 'people' to put a stop to this BH in our society, and if we are handling it in this manner we would not move ahead, so let us forget about sentiment, tribalism and face reality, criminals could from any part of d country what is important is we should not allow them to distabilise the nation. Thanks to the JTF for a good job the good Lord will continue to strengthening you, as Nigerians in diaspora are been tagged bad image as terrorists.

Pls once again let's join hands together to fight BH and not to be defender our tribe or region this won't take us anywhere.

BH shall be flushed out of our nation as we are peace loving people.

May God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and her citizenry. Amen.

Unite Nigerian People, in unity we shall conquer. Amen
