Lagos indigenes beg Fashola to reduce LASU fees

The association of Lagos state indigenes, Ojo chapter has appealed to Gov Babatunde Fashola to reconsider his decision to increase tuion of the institution  in the interest of the indigent citizens of the state.
The group made the appeal weekend during a press conference organized in Ojo, Lagos.
The appeal is coming on the heels of the recent increase in tuition fees for the new intakes at Lagos State University, LASU, by the State Government.

Addressing newsmen, Chairman of the association, Elder Joseph Osoja said that the group was not unmindful of the good work the governor is doing in the state and acknowledged the enormous responsibility and high cost of maintaining a university but felt that there was need for government to consider their plea by lowering to an affordable level for poor citizens.
Osoja said though, education is very expensive in terms of paying salaries of lecturers, nonacademic staff, building structures among other expenses because of some outsiders in our schools.”
