The leader of the Shiites Islamic sect, Mallam Ibraheem el-Zakzaky has accused some elements within the nation’s security agencies of being behind the ongoing insurrection in the Northern parts of the country by the notorious Islamic sect, the Boko Haram.
El-Zakzaky also said Western governments had a hand in the insecurity created by the Islamic sect.
Answering questions from journalists on Sunday in his Zaria base during a Sallah feast he organised for members, associates and friends of his movement, el-Zakzaky said there was no group behind the Boko Haram other than the nation’s security agencies and the country’s leadership.
El-Zakzaky expressed regret that the attitude of the nation’s security agencies and that of the political leaders had rubbished democracy, warning that Nigeria might descend into anarchy reminiscent of the Somalian experience if urgent steps were not taken to arrest the socio-economic calamity.
The Shiites leader said, “Boko Haram is part of the whole idea of occupying this country by the western worlds. Perhaps that thing you have mentioned is a division within the Nigerian security, not known in the society, it is only an operation within the security, and perhaps, it is also part of the gimmicks for those who wish to occupy this country.
“Who is causing the insecurity? Is it not the same government? The security operators have a wing which causes insecurity, so they are the facilitators of this, and I believe that they are working for those who are interested in occupying this country, and the occupation of this country is in the agenda of outside society.
“It is not possible for one to assess this nation within few words, you are asking for a lecture. It appears that people are more interested in themselves, which will make them more easily to be used as agents by those who are interested in our resources.”
