Reward for hard work
Mr Ashiru made the charge when he addressed the permanent secretary, Martin Uhomoibhi and some other senior management staff of the Ministry, in his office, yesterday.
"The idea of ‘senior foreign service officer' from a state would no longer be a criteria for foreign posting during my dispensation here, as hard work would be the yardstick for rewarding officers in the ministry."

He expressed his gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve the country and acknowledged the role his predecessor, Odein Ajumogobia, played during his tenure in office.

Mr Uhomoibhi, who expressed his happiness for the appointment of the new Minister, said Mr Ashiru has become the third career- officer serving as a minister after, Olisemeka and Adeniji.
