Former RCCG Pastor Attacks Adeboye For Turning Holy Ghost Congress To Political Congress

A former pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Bankole Solomon has taken on the General Overseer (GO) of the church, Pastor E A Adeboye for allegedly turning the yearly Holy Ghost Congress into a political congress.

The former pastor said in a post that the yearly spiritual programme, which attracts millions of visitors to the Redemption camp venue of the congress located along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, is gradually becoming a place where politician come to deceive worshippers with 'fake' promises.

Bankole, who claimed to have resigned as a pastor of RCCG in 2010 due to some rights discrimination, stated in his post that it was wrong for President Jonathan to have stood on the 'once sacred altar' to speak to the congregation when he knew he was not being truthful with what he was promising Nigerians.

Bankole's full post reads

"I know this post will attract a sharp condemnation because I worship in RCCG and I was once a pastor before I resigned voluntarily because of rights violations in the name of religion. I resigned in December 2010 but I am still worshipping there as an ordinary member. So, whatever. I have here is without prejudice.

"Holy ghost congress of our great church is now a political congress where all shades of corrupt leaders will mount our altar to fool Nigerians on what they will do.

"Holy Ghost congress is now a supermarket where all kinds of people like charlatans and political opportunist come shopping turning God to father Christmas to give dem end of d year bonus.

"Jonathan was even there turning our once sacred altar to political podium talking deceitfully and indirectly campaigning for 2015. My question is this? On what ground was president Jonathan allowed to speak to people. Is he a pastor? Because the gathering is purely a spiritual gathering and event.

"I've been a pastor in Redeemed for the past 10 years and I've not got any opportunity to sit on dat altar not to talk of holding mic. If because Jonathan is a President and he is recognised, it means some are more equal than others.

"Immediately I left camp on Saturday morning, I looked at the camp very well because I know that would be the last time I willl set my foot to that Eagle Square called Redeemed camp."

Do you think Bankole is right?

  9. Bankole resigned for the same reason he was ordained. He is not a christian. He came to the congress as a spectator. Some left the congress with annointing but bankole left with a curse.may God have mercy on bankole.

  10. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself said that He came for the lost souls and not for the saved.
He did not discriminate against anybody, Sadducees, Pharisees, lepers, beggars, tax collectors, customs men, all
    approached him freely.
He dined freely with most of them in attempts to get them SAVED.
He did not forbid Judas, one of his 12 disciples that He knew very well was a thief and that would eventually betray him.

  11. Instead of making issues out of nothing, why can't you offer humble suggestion? If Bankole were d GO of RccG today, would he have ignored the presence. Of d president of a nation even if d gathering is a spiritual event? I doubt it if Bankole was realy called by God. If you were realy called, nothing would make you resign from God's service. Bankole should pray for forgiveness and seek d face of God for original script for his ministry. If the altar is to be treated with more honour, I suggest that RCCG should construct a special stage for public servants keynote address seperated from ministers address.

  12. Pastor Adeboye is a man of God. I believe God is aware of what he did & am sure he got the initiative from the Holy Spirit. Judge not so you don't get judged.

  13. Thanks Mayowa for your reasonable suggestion, I hope RCCG will take note of this.

  15. the bible tell us to prayer for the leaders of the land, weather govt, ministers, and more. even God is a very righteous that when we repent and rent our heart He 4gives us, even if Obama or Jonathan. the case of Nineveh in the bible. so ur living wont stop the congress n ur been part is ur benefit. the pple that where blessed are still blessed by God not you that left. we Love Daddy G.O n we still love him. God bless you that G.O.

  16. Former Pastor Bankole, how could u resign as a servant of God. Something is WRONG with u. For Jonathan, he said he came to rededicate his life and there is nothing wrong about that. For Daddy Adeboye, Sir i wish to suggest that we make Congress purely spiritual. No man is perfect,it is only God Almigthy that is perfect. We can honour and respect our leaders in authority but not until we allow them to stain the HOLY ALTAR. They can go to where people usually stand to testimony

I EXPECT THAT ALL THESE SHD BE SAID RIGHT IN FRONT OF DADDY GO AND THE CONGREGATION AND NOT IN THE HIDE OUT FOR DEBATE. HAS HE GONE TO THE ALTER AND WAS NOT ALLOWED TO TALK.... CHRISTIANS MUST BE PERSISTENT.... HE THAT STAND SHOULD TAKE HEED, LEAST HE FALLS. MAY THE LORD HELP US TO MAKE HEAVEN.....JUDGE NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Well,Bankole i appreciate ur observation.Your opinion and suggestions are always welcome in RCCG.We will be happy with Jonathan if truly he is genuinely re-dedicating his life.Remember Jesus said He has come to seek and to save the lost and not d righeteous like u(if u are at all). The leaders need prayer;if u don't believe me,i pray you will get there one day.You need to repent and ask God for mercy for ur total restoration. And for all the churches,my comment is that be spiritually convinced/led before ordaining anyone as Pastors.

  22. Those of u condemning Bankole are missing the point. I have seen a man of God that cut short a politicians speech during his programme
because, the politician was beginning to make a campaign out of the short speech he was supposed to give. I think that's what Bankole meant. Turning the house of God into a den of thieves was one thing our Lord Jesus Christ personally fought with his own hands and as Followers of Christ, our men of God must not encourage it. its ok to recognize Mr presidents presence but for him to start making any political statements or campaign is a no no. I'm sure President Obama will know how to address a religious gathering.

  23. Bankole should go and sleep.. His not worth to be called a man of God, he does not even know anything about the scripture. He said he turn and look back and said that is the last time is goin to come to the holy ghost congress.. Bankole go lick stew u aint worth, if u like come if you don't like don't come its not by force, we will still be there

  24. Bankole in the first place was not born again is possible he was made a Pastor because he settle his immediate pastor, who give him rigth to talk about my of God most especially our Daddy GO. Please tell bankole to go home study his bible very well, if resign from RCCG as a Pastor, he should go and start his own ministry or church if think is easy. Redemption Camp is not political arena it is Holy ground set side to worshipe our Holy God. The coming of president to camp is blessing to Nigerian and the nation as whole. More also Jesus Christ eat sinners. Finally let Bankole go and wash he mouth with close-up paste and ask God for mercy before the wraths of God fall on he bankole. Bankole repent and be born for the kingdom of God is at hand.

  26. Yes, Mr. President must be given his due recognition. It is a rare honour to have the President in camp. But, did he mount the alter to preach? If Pastor Adeboye were to be invited by Mr. President to a Government function, I wonder if given the opportunity to address the audience, he would do that from the reserved podium meant only for THE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA. Food for thought! May be Bankole has personal issues with Pastor Adeboye, it isn't out of place. As humans, we do from time to time. But, does he have issues with GOD? If no, why his resignation? Why the vow never to return to the Camp ground? It behoves of any of us to use abusive languages on the rest of us, please desist from this practice. NIGERIANEYE, from every indication, Readers comments are posted raw without any moderation. Someone called Mr. President names. This is absurd. Such comments should not be posted at all.

  28. this is what makes me sick about nigerians. the disregard and disrespect other peoples opinions very quick to throw out insults and berate each other. imagine some of you hear had the nerve to question another man's salvation. the way some of this responses are worded lack love or patience the fruit of true believers. Remember y'all God is no respecter of persons no man is perfect and our one main commission is to look unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our Faith. there are Great men of God here in the US who when they fell and were exposed we could not believe it. be sure to test things do not place your faith in men but in God. after seeing the lives of Joel osteen, comments of TD Jakes, blasphemies of kenneth copeland and so .i do not trust any man any more. i check things more intimately now. if you do believe me go to you tube and search prosperity gospel preachers and you will hear things they have spoken with their mouths like Jesus is not the only way . please i this this former pastor did us all a favor to stop and humans will healthy brains and a soverign loving God.
