The 2022 gubernatorial election in Osun State will now hold on Saturday 16th of July, 2022.
This information was contained in a timetable released through the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and obtained by newsmen.

Micro-blogging platform Twitter rejected the Nigerian government’s demand that the account of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu be blocked, Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed disclosed on Tuesday.
Mohammed stated this when he featured on ‘Politics
Nationwide,’ a Radio Nigeria call-in programme in Abuja, according to the News
Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The minister insisted that Twitter was suspended in Nigeria
because the platform was being used to promote the views of those who wanted to
destabilise the country.
Mohammed said that it was unfair to conclude that Twitter
was suspended because it deleted a tweet posted by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, inaugurated the Yaba Bus Terminal, located along the Muritala Mohammed Way, Yaba Local Council Development Area in Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu said the bus terminal was necessary for the daily transportation of the teeming population in the state, adding that the government was satisfied with the project.
He added the project was also in the interest of his administration’s drive to consistently provide ultramodern infrastructure to meet the transportation needs of residents.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said the Boko Haram menace in
Nigeria is due to the instability in Libya.
Buhari made the remark while urging countries in the West

Abdulrasheed Bawa, chairman of the Economic and Financial

cryptocurrency from cybercriminals.
He said the commission sees cryptocurrency as an “avenue

Students of the Rivers State College of Health Sciences and Technology on Tuesday, blocked the mile 4 axis of the Ikwerre road in Port Harcourt in protest against poor basic amenities in the institution.
The protest caused a heavy gridlock around the area, forcing motorists to use alternative routes.
The students who defied an early morning downpour to stage the protest are demanding for the provision of water and electricity in their hostels by the institution’s management.
Some of the leaders of the protest, who spoke with newsmen also decried “non accreditation of some courses offered in the institution,”leaving them jobless after graduation.

Medical Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Tuesday stayed away from the public
inquiry set up to investigate the death of one Mrs Peju Ugboma who died due to
alleged negligence at the hospital.
Recall that the family of Peju
Ugboma, a Lagos State-based chef, had accused Premier Specialist Medical
Centre, Victoria Island, of negligence after Lagos State University Teaching
Hospital, Ikeja, carried out an independent autopsy and revealed that she
suffered internal bleeding.
It was learnt that she had about
two litres of blood in her abdomen and pelvic area after an elective surgery
for a fibroid issue.
The family stated that she walked into the hospital by herself unaided as it was by no means an emergency surgical procedure, adding that she had concluded all the necessary tests required before the surgery, including ECG, PCV, and COVID-19 tests.
Reuben Abati, former spokesman to ex-President Goodluck
Jonathan, says it is evident that President Muhammadu Buhari is in charge of
the country.
Abati was commenting on Buhari’s interview with ARISE TV

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has reacted to a recent reconciliation plea made to Boko Haram and Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) by the Nigerian Army.
The army had called on the terrorists to put down their weapons and embrace peace, saying an end to the war is in sight.
The call for reconciliation was made by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Abdulwahad Eyitayo at a party organised for journalists by the Army in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital on Sunday.
Eyitayo said that no one, including the military, was happy with the bloodshed, calling on the remnants of the terrorist organisation to take advantage of the amnesty and repent without further delay.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, flagged off the construction of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas train 7 project located in Bonny, Rivers State.
Buhari congratulated the NLNG and its shareholders for proving that a Nigerian company can operate a world-class business in safety, profitability and responsibility.
He said the focus of his administration was to boost the development of Nigeria’s abundant gas resources, strengthen the gas value chain, develop the most needed infrastructure and enhance safe operations in the sector as outlined in the national gas policy of 2017.
“Through a decade of gas initiative which I recently launched, we will transform Nigeria into a natural gas and Industrial nation with gas playing the key role and revenue earner,” he added.
