Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion.
The event forms part of efforts to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid under the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections. It is described as the first such presidential campaign rally in the Southwest.
Upon landing at the Ekiti Agro-Allied Airport, Shettima was received by Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, senior government officials, APC leaders, political stakeholders and other dignitaries. Crowds of supporters and party faithful lined the routes, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere as the Vice President acknowledged their reception.
Before the visit, Shettima’s spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha, noted that the trip coincides with ongoing federal interventions in the state. These include reconstruction of the 56.18-kilometre Ado-Ekiti–Iyin–Aramoko–Itawure Road, approval for the Ado-Ijan–Ilumoba–Ikole Road project, electricity interventions and support for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone aimed at advancing technology, innovation and job creation.
While in the state, the Vice President is expected to engage party leaders, stakeholders and supporters on the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, highlighting federal-state collaboration, infrastructure development and economic opportunities for residents.
