The campaign convoy of the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, has reportedly come under attack in Calabar, Cross River State.
Ester Umoh, a media aide to the NDC flagbearer, disclosed
the attack in a social media post on Wednesday.
“Thugs are trying to attack our convoy," she said while
raising the alarm over the incident.
The development comes shortly after Obi, alongside his wife,
Margaret, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, arrived in Calabar for a town
hall meeting.
The alleged attack comes barely two months after Obi’s
convoy faced a similar incident in Benue State, where thugs blocked the Boko
Road by the Air Force Base in an attempt to prevent the former Anambra State
governor from gaining access into the state.
More details later.
