Nigerian gospel singer and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has become the first African to hit one billion views on YouTube.
Statistics by his channel, Nathaniel Bassey Main, disclosed
that the music minister has recorded 1,014,544,577 views and 5.24 million
YouTube subscribers since its creation in 2011.
Nathaniel Bassey's channel, powered by worship songs like
Imela, You Are God, Onise lyanu and his popular online music and prayer
movement, Halleluyah Challenge, surpassed the historic milestone over the
weekend.
The development came after the just concluded October 5 to
30, 2026, edition of Halleluyah Challenge. The movement was founded in 2017.
The achievement has generated excitement on social media
especially among his followers who took to his page to congratulate him.
