A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Senator Ayo Arise, has called on party leaders and supporters across the state to unite and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
Arise made the appeal in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Thursday during a visit by the APC Presidential Campaign Council to the state as part of efforts to rally support for the President’s second-term bid.
The former lawmaker said Tinubu’s administration had recorded significant achievements through economic reforms, infrastructure development, security initiatives, the student loan programme and policies aimed at creating opportunities for young Nigerians.
According to him, continuity in leadership is necessary to consolidate the gains already made and advance the country’s development agenda.
He urged party members, particularly his supporters across Ekiti North Senatorial District and other parts of the state, to begin extensive mobilisation efforts to ensure a decisive victory for the APC in the next presidential election.
Arise stressed that unity among party stakeholders would be crucial to achieving the desired outcome, noting that Ekiti State should remain firmly supportive of the President’s re-election project.
“Ekiti must speak with one voice in support of the President’s continuity,” he said, emphasising the need for sustained grassroots engagement and cooperation among party members.
The APC stalwart described Tinubu as a leader who had demonstrated courage and vision by implementing difficult but necessary reforms aimed at repositioning the country for long-term growth and stability.
He added that progressive-minded Nigerians should continue to support the President’s efforts, particularly across the South-West region, traditionally regarded as a stronghold of the ruling party.
Arise also expressed satisfaction with the turnout of party supporters during the campaign council’s visit, saying the enthusiastic reception across Ekiti State’s 16 local government areas reflected growing support for the APC ahead of 2027.
He maintained that the state was prepared to deliver overwhelming votes for Tinubu and the ruling party in the next general election.
His remarks came shortly after Vice President Kashim Shettima urged Ekiti residents to deliver at least 90 per cent of the votes cast in the 2027 presidential election to President Tinubu.
