Troops of Sector 2 under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have successfully rescued five abducted women in Katsina State and recovered rustled livestock in Sokoto State after repelling terrorist attacks in separate operations.
In Katsina, soldiers acted on intelligence about terrorist movements around Madaci Forest in Sabuwa Local Government Area.
Their swift response disrupted the criminals and led to the rescue of five female victims, including a mother with her infant, three minors, and a young adult.
The victims, originally from Danja and Funtua LGAs, were handed over to Bakori LGA Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Musa, for reunification with their families.
Troops have since intensified patrols to secure the area and restrict terrorist activity.Meanwhile, in Sokoto’s Shagari Local Government Area, troops of the 248 Reconnaissance Battalion repelled an attack on Badiya village.
Acting on credible intelligence, they engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to flee.
In their retreat, the attackers abandoned a large herd of stolen livestock, which was recovered and returned to rightful owners during a ceremony facilitated by the Shagari LGA Chairman and the local District Head.
These coordinated operations highlight ongoing efforts to restore normalcy and strengthen community confidence in regions affected by abductions and livestock rustling.
