Tinubu Returns to Abuja After Six-Day Stay in Lagos

 


President Bola Tinubu on Monday evening departed Lagos for Abuja, concluding a six-day visit to his home state following his annual vacation in Europe.


His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development in a statement titled “President Tinubu returns to Abuja.”


Tinubu had arrived in Lagos on September 29 after spending time in London and Paris, where he reportedly held a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace on September 17.


During his stay in Lagos, the President delivered Nigeria’s Independence Day broadcast on October 1, marking the nation’s 66th anniversary. In his address, he declared an end to the “age of reform” and the beginning of an “age of prosperity.”


That same day, Tinubu attended the national premiere of MKO, a documentary celebrating the life and legacy of Chief Moshood Abiola and the June 12 pro-democracy struggle. 


The screening took place at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts.On Sunday, he also paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at his Iga Iduganran Palace on Lagos Island.


Tinubu has now returned to Abuja to resume official duties after his vacation and engagements in Lagos.
