A prominent businessman in Ondo State, Kayode Akinbolusere, popularly known as Tolufe and owner of Esther Estate, has been found dead in what authorities suspect to be a case of s¢ic!de.
The 46-year-old reportedly died at his office in the Igba area of Ondo State on Thursday. Before his death, he recorded a video message in which he reflected on personal struggles and expressed his intention to leave his assets to his wife and children.
In the recording, Akinbolusere praised his wife, Esther, for standing by him through difficult periods of his life and career. He stated that he was making decisions regarding his property of his own free will and acknowledged the support his family had given him over the years.
According to the Ondo State Police Command, the incident was reported after members of the public alerted authorities that the businessman had been found dead at his office near a filling station in Igba Town.
Police operatives from the Bolorunduro Division visited the scene and commenced preliminary investigations. The deceased's body was later evacuated to the State Hospital Morgue for preservation and further examination.
Police spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh said initial findings indicated that the businessman had recorded a video before his death, which has since circulated on social media. Investigators noted that no visible signs of violence or foul play were observed during the initial examination of the body.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Felix Ohagwu, has ordered a comprehensive investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
The police also urged members of the public to avoid speculation while investigations continue. They further encouraged individuals facing emotional, marital or personal challenges to seek professional help and support rather than suffer in silence.
Authorities say further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
