Omah Lay, the Nigerian singer, was reportedly rushed to hospital after sustaining a leg injury while performing an acrobatic stunt during rehearsals.
In a now-viral photo from the incident, the ‘Holy Ghost’
singer is seen lying on the floor with his left leg wrapped as medical
personnel surround and attend to him. A video also showed the singer, who is
currently on his ‘Clarity of Mind’ world tour, on a stretcher being loaded into
an ambulance.
The incident is said to have occurred in Los Angeles,
California. Neither Omah Lay nor his management has released any update on his
condition.

Born Stanley Omah Didia, the singer began his career at 15,
first working behind the scenes as a producer before breaking through in 2020
with the viral hits ‘You’ and ‘Bad Influence’.
He put out ‘Boy Alone’, his debut album, in 2022.
His signature blend of Afro-fusion and vulnerable lyricism
has since earned him a dedicated global following.
He earned a nomination at the 2026 Grammys in the ‘Best
African Music Performance’ category for ‘With You,’ his collaboration with
Davido. They, however, lost out to South Africa’s Tyla.
The singer recently declared himself Nigeria’s best artiste
of the last 20 years. He added he considers himself unmatched in creativity and
musicianship.
“I’m the best at this. I don’t mean to brag… but I am the
best in the last 20 years,” he boasted.
