An aide to Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris on cemetery affairs, ATM Jega, has threatened to prevent former Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami from entering the state over the alleged destruction of political billboards.
Jega issued the threat while reacting to allegations that
some individuals were removing billboards in different parts of Kebbi State.
He urged Malami, the African Democratic Congress, ADC,
governorship candidate in Kebbi, to caution those he described as his
supporters against the alleged vandalism.
“We will prevent Abubakar Malami from entering Kebbi State
if he does not stop his boys from tearing down our billboards,” Jega was quoted
as saying.
Jega warned that he would take action if the alleged
destruction continued.
The development comes as political activities gather
momentum in Kebbi ahead of the 2027 general elections.
