Operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 have arrested 14 Chinese nationals and one Nigerian at four illegal lithium processing plants in the Ogere area of Ogun State.
The agency announced the operation on Monday via its official X handle. The suspects were detained on Friday, 23 October 2026, after credible intelligence and surveillance led officers to the sites.
Items recovered during the raids included bags of lithium rocks, 18 mobile phones, four laptops, two decoders, a television remote control and a trailer truck.
The EFCC said the 15 suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
