A Senior Magistrate Court in Abuja has issued bench warrants for the arrest of former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha and former Senator Ifeanyi Araraume over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery, and the presentation of false documents.
The warrants, dated September 9, 2026, also name Timothy Ama Chuks and Amen Okorocha.
The four are accused of conspiring to forge and submit fake All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election results that allegedly showed Okorocha as the winner of the party’s Imo West (Orlu Zone) senatorial primary.
Under the court order, police officers nationwide are authorised to arrest the named individuals and produce them before Senior Magistrate Court 3 in Jiwa, Abuja.
The cases, registered under numbers CR/M/JW/084/2026 and CR/M/JW/085/2026, were instituted by the Inspector-General of Police.
The development coincides with action by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a letter dated October 8, 2026, signed by Imo State Resident Electoral Commissioner Chukwuemeka Ibeziako, INEC wrote to the Commissioner of Police in Imo State and the state’s Department of State Services (DSS) counterpart, urging an investigation into a document circulating that purportedly declared Okorocha the winner of the primary.
INEC described the document as a “fraudulent and fictitious All Progressives Congress senatorial party primary report for Imo State dated 18th May, 2026.”
The commission stated that the authentic results submitted by the APC showed incumbent Governor Hope Uzodimma as the duly declared winner of the primary.
