Several members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue State sustained serious injuries on Saturday when a bus conveying them to the party’s rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle.
The accident occurred in Lafia, a few kilometres from the rally venue.The exact number of injured delegates could not be immediately confirmed, but the victims were evacuated to hospitals in Lafia for medical attention.
Dan-Morgan Ihomun, Publicity Secretary of the Austin Agada faction of the APC in Benue State, confirmed the incident and said no life was lost.
“The accident happened in Lafia and it involved two vehicles. But there was no loss of life. Those who sustained injuries have been rushed to the hospital,” Ihomun said.
The latest crash comes months after a similar accident involving Benue APC delegates travelling to Lafia for a party event.
On March 25, 2026, three delegates from Ogbadibo Local Government Area died, while about 10 others were injured when a bus conveying them from Makurdi to Lafia crashed en route to the APC North-Central Zonal Congress.
