Atiku is My Presidential Candidate - Rhodes -Vivour

African Democratic Congress (ADC) Lagos State governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has reaffirmed his support for Atiku Abubakar as his presidential candidate, while stressing that he holds no personal issues with former Anambra governor, Peter Obi.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Igbo on Monday, Rhodes-Vivour emphasized that his political priority remains Lagos State, noting that his decisions are guided by the interests of the state.

“My first priority and my first love is Lagos State, and I must always make decisions based on Lagos first,” he said.

Recalling his past political experiences, Rhodes-Vivour highlighted how both Atiku and Obi had shifted roles across different elections. He explained that his current affiliation with the ADC places him firmly behind Atiku.

“I’m in the ADC, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is my presidential candidate, that’s where I am, so we are going to do everything we can for our party as the ADC,” he stated.

The governorship hopeful also urged Nigerians to vote according to their convictions, stressing the importance of ensuring that every ballot counts.

On the recurring debate about Lagos being a “no-man’s land,” Rhodes-Vivour firmly rejected the description, calling it an insult to his ancestry. He argued that land ownership and transactions in Lagos prove otherwise.

“Lagos has never been a no-man’s land… For anybody to say Lagos is a no-man’s land, that’s a very big insult. It’s an insult not just to me, it’s an insult to my ancestors,” he said.
