Activist Justice Crack Sues Nigerian Army Over Alleged Rights Violations

Nigerian activist Chidiebere Justice Mark, popularly known as JusticeCrack, has filed a fundamental rights lawsuit against the Nigerian Army, the Chief of Army Staff, and the Attorney-General of the Federation, alleging violations of his rights during detention.

In a statement released Wednesday through his legal team, JusticeCrack claimed he was arrested on April 28, 2026, and subjected to degrading treatment while in military custody.

“I was handcuffed and blindfolded, kept under the sun during the day and in extremely cold conditions at night,” he said, adding that he was denied access to water and other basic necessities.

He further disclosed that he was later transferred to the Department of State Services (DSS), where he spent about 21 days. According to him, the detention was separate from his ongoing criminal case, which came up in court on September 28.

The activist explained that his suit seeks judicial determination of the circumstances surrounding his detention and the alleged abuses.

“I am seeking justice, accountability and respect for the rule of law,” he stated. This rewrite keeps the headline concise, emphasizes the legal action, and presents the allegations in a clear, chronological manner.
