Former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has declared that he remains the dominant and undisputed leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo State.
Okorocha made this declaration on Thursday while responding
to questions in an interview on Arise Television's Prime Time.
He dismissed rival claims over the party's structure in the
state, insisting that no one can take his place as the leader of the party.
He said he built the APC in Imo from scratch and remained
loved by the people despite attempts by some forces to push him aside and erase
his legacies.
According to him, those claiming to be in charge of the APC
structure in Imo are only joking, adding that the real structure of the party
is still with him.
"I remain the dominant APC figure in Imo State. Nobody
can take my place. I built this party with my blood and sweat, and the people
are still with me," Okorocha stated.
He accused Governor Hope Uzodimma's loyalists of trying to
hijack the party structure through propaganda, but insisted that Imo APC knows
its true leader.
Okorocha said he is not bothered by the claims of rival
groups, adding that time will tell who truly owns Imo APC.
