Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has openly declared his support for President Bola Tinubu and the Rainbow Coalition, signalling alignment with the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a video message posted on X, Fubara said he was backing the APC governorship candidate in Rivers, Kingsley Chinda, stressing that the era of political conflict in the state was over.
“We have made peace in the state and I am supporting the Rainbow Coalition. President Bola Tinubu is our president and is the one that we are supporting. Chinda is the governorship candidate that I am supporting and everybody who believes in me will support,” Fubara said.
He urged his followers to give their full backing to the coalition, emphasising that Rivers must move forward in peace.
“The time of war is over, this is the time of peace and this peace is taking us to another level,” he added.
Fubara clarified that his position was not about personal gain but about ensuring stability and progress in the state.
He reiterated that he would not support any move that could bring “disability” to Rivers, insisting that his focus was on unity and development.
