The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has declared that the party will face no serious opposition in the 2027 elections, describing the opposition in the state as currently “partyless.”
Adeola made the statement at an APC Interfaith Prayer and Praise Concert held at Ake Palace Ground in Abeokuta, the state capital, ahead of the general elections.
He said the opposition parties were struggling with internal challenges and claimed that God had already cleared the path for an APC victory without a fight.
According to him, the party’s success would begin with the presidential election scheduled for January 16, 2027, and extend to the governorship and National Assembly polls in Ogun State.
“There will be nobody, because they are all partyless. They are running helter-skelter to rectify their shortcomings, but God has spoken that He is going to give us victory without a fight,” Adeola said.
“That same God that will give us victory on January 16 will also support me to become the 17th Executive Governor of Ogun State. God will give us victory and clear our path without a fight, because there will be nobody contesting against us. God has started that already. On February 6, 2027, there will be nobody, because they are all partyless.”
The senator expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would secure re-election and that APC candidates for National Assembly seats from Ogun State would also emerge victorious.
He urged party members to remain committed to the party’s activities.Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, who also spoke at the event, described the gathering as an opportunity for party members to seek divine guidance and commit their 2027 political journey to God.
He recalled the challenges of the 2019 governorship election and expressed belief that the same divine intervention that helped him then would guide a smooth transition.
Regional Evangelist of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Johnson Kalejaiye, prayed for divine intervention ahead of the elections and called on political parties to avoid campaigns of calumny and hate speech that could trigger violence.
The interfaith event was attended by Christian and Muslim clerics, former Governor Olusegun Osoba, Minister of Livestock Development Idi Mukhta Maiha, Ogun APC Chairman Chief Yemi Sanusi, and Senator Lekan Mustapha, Director-General of the APC Campaign Council in the state.
