The Zamfara State Government has announced the appointment of Alhaji Shehu Baraya as the new Head of the State Civil Service.
Governor Dauda Lawal approved the appointment, which takes immediate effect, according to a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada, and signed by his Senior Special Assistant (Media), Suleman Ahmad Tudu.
Baraya succeeds Alhaji Yakubu Haidara, who recently retired after years of service.
The government praised Haidara for his contributions to the development of the civil service and wished him well in retirement.
Described as a seasoned career civil servant, Baraya has served as Permanent Secretary in several ministries and was most recently the Permanent Secretary of the Zamfara State Civil Service Commission.
Governor Lawal charged him to leverage his experience to deepen professionalism, strengthen discipline, improve productivity, and enhance efficiency across the civil service in line with the administration’s Rescue Agenda.
